AKFI Announces Experienced Coaches as Selection Committee for Indian Kabaddi Men's Team at 70th Senior Nationals Kabaddi Championship

The selection committee for choosing probable players of the Indian Kabaddi Men's team is announced by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI). This committee comprising of Radhir Singh, Manpreet Singh and Ashok Shinde will be finalizing contenders during the upcoming 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship. The national championship is scheduled from March 21st to 24th, 2024, at the District Sports Complex in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Experienced Coaches to Shoulder the Responsibility

The AKFI has meticulously evaluated applications from qualified candidates to form this crucial selection committee. Three coaches, all decorated achievers in the field of Kabaddi, have been appointed based on their qualifications, experience, age, past accolades, and the information provided in their applications.

Meet the Esteemed Selection Committee

Mr. Randhir Singh:  An Arjuna Award recipient, Mr. Singh brings his experience as a Kabaddi coach to the table. The Arjuna Award is a prestigious recognition bestowed on outstanding sportspersons in India. He is also a winner of PKL Title as a Kabaddi coach with Bengaluru Bulls in season 6. His knowledge and coaching expertise will be invaluable during the player selection process.

Mr. Ashok Shinde: Another recipient of the Arjuna Award, Mr. Shinde's experience as a Kabaddi coach will be a key asset to the committee. His proven track record and in-depth understanding of the sport will be crucial in selecting talented players.

Mr. Manpreet Singh:  The only member of the committee to be conferred with the prestigious Dhyan Chand Award, Mr. Manpreet Singh is a highly respected figure in Kabaddi. His experience and achievements as a coach will provide valuable guidance in choosing potential national team members. He was the head coach of the Haryana Steelers in Pro Kabaddi Season 10, who are the runner-up of the season.

The 70th Senior National Kabaddi Championship will be held at the District Sports Complex, Wadia Park, Tilak Road, in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The organizing committee of the championship will be responsible for covering all the expenses incurred by the selection committee members throughout the event.
