69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship to start on July 21

 

 

The 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship is all set to begin on July 21, with all the matches of the tournament being conducted at Charkhi Dari, Haryana. The tournament, that is organized by Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), would be only held for men, contrary to the previous editions where the games for both men's and women's categories were held at multiple venues.

The championship would be featuring several Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) stars, as they are expected to take part in this 4-day event, concluding on July 24. 

The players who are competing for the Senior National Kabaddi Championship this year would be well in contention to be scouted for the Indian National Kabaddi Team. 

The previous edition of the championship saw Indian Railways winning the tournament, defeating Services in the final game 44-23 at the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

In the women's category, Himachal Pradesh had emerged as the winners in the previous edition as they went on to defeat Indian Railways 33-31 in the final game.
