NK Academy brushes off the Narwal Sports Academy and qualify for the TOP 4 | K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021

Narwal Sports Academy vs NK Academy
Narwal Sports Academy vs NK Academy (match snippets)

Narwal Sports Academy came into this match with a lot of conviction to keep their hopes alive in this tournament by avoiding a loss here, which would officially mean that they are the first team to get evicted from the tournament. They brought themselves into this situation through a series of losses which read 0-3 in the SUPER  6 stage. Whereas, NK Academy the exact opposites came into this match undefeated 3-0 with high confidence as they can almost smell that finals birth in their kitty. So this match was a virtual knock-out with the results holding merit of either end of the spectrum for both the teams in saving and qualifying.

The initiation of the first half showed determination by NSA as they quickly gained a lead of 5-0 courtesy of a multi-point raid by Gurmeet, but the moment of glory for NSA ended there as NKA showed why they are the table toppers and marched their way right back into the game and simply annihilated NSA to the mat by forcing not one but two all-outs in next couple of minutes as the scoreline in the first half read 25-12 in favor of NKA. The biggest strength of NKA is their defense and that was in full flow once again courtesy of three of their defenders(Rohit, Krishan & Vijay) as they are in the top 10 defenders in the SUPER 6 stage ably led by Rohit Raghav.

The second half was no different for NKA as they were completely dominating the proceedings through defense ably backed by their star raider Vinay Virender who had yet another Super 10 in this tournament. NSA on the other hand were not helping their cause by making numerous empty raids and pressurize themselves time and again into a do-or-die raid where they faltered multiple times. NSA gave away any chance of revival by getting themselves all-out for the third time in the match courtesy of a solo tackle by Manish Angrej to take out their raider Gurmeet. This match looked like a bout between a heavyweight and an amateur as NKA just brushed off any challenge that was supposedly thrown at them by NSA. At one stage of the match, the scoreline read 42-25 in favor of NKA, but in the final few minutes of the match, NSA desperately tried their best but the gap was too big to be filled as their agony ended with a scoreline of 43-31.

This tournament is all but over for NSA with one match to go where they would like to avoid the wooden spoon. Whereas NKA just needs to carry this momentum as they are the first team to officially book a finals birth and with one match to go they would like to consolidate on that top 2 spots which will give them an additional advantage of two shots at gold.

The best raider and the player of the match could have been none other than Vinay Virender (12 points). Whereas, the best defender of the match was awarded to Sanjay.

NSA will collide with Parveen and Jasvir Academy tomorrow (06/08/2021) at 10:00 A.M. to get their first win. Whereas NKA's next fixture will be against Amit Ashok Academy tomorrow (06/08/2021) at 06:00 P.M.
