A roller coaster of ride saw Amit Ashok Academy and Bhaini School play out an exciting draw | K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021

Ashu in action

Day 4 of the SUPER 6 stage, the last match of the day, was the clash of the titans as 3rd place Amit Ashok Academy took on 2nd place Bhaini School. With both teams in a solid position to get into the knockouts already, a win here would be perfect to stay at the top half of the table. A loss from here on out could result in a nervy finish to their SUPER 6 stage with teams below them chasing down their necks.

The star players to look out for were Mohit Goyat (BS) and Ashu Malik (AAA), who was placed 3rd and 4th in the raid points chart. AAA started with five defenders and two raiders in their starting 7. BS decided to go with four defenders and three raiders. AAA won the toss and chose the court, with BS raiding out first.

Mohit started first with an empty raid, Ashu followed him in the same fashion. Mohit Goyat opened the scoring with a quick touchpoint. Vishal came in next for AAA but went back with an empty raid. Ashu went in for the D.O.D raid as he scored a quick touchpoint. But Mohit wriggles past two defenders to maintains his team's lead. Ashu saw his team lagging and came in for a super raid with the game was back to a single points lead. Kismat and Nitin R scored back for BS as they build back a lead of points.

The match had stopped due to another technical glitch. But it got resumed with Mohit completing a quick all-out, the first of the game. As BS lead by 9 points. Mohit and Kismat scored back-to-back raid points again, Ashu failing to score once again after being grabbed by the BS's Defense they conceded another all-out as Ronak Kuldeep, Akshay Kumar error gifted Kismat with a multi-point raid and BS lead by 18 points.

Ankit took out 3 Bhaini School players despite being pinned to the ground to score a super raid to bring some points back as Ashu followed with consecutive touchpoints of his own. Ashu put out some of his quick raids and scored the first all-out of his team, with the lead was cut to just 10 points before the half's whistle. Bhaini School scored a massive 19 raids points as the game shifted in their favor.

2nd half resumed with a solo tackle by Jaideep to take out raider Ashu Malik. With Mohit Goyat and Kismat scoring next. But Ankit took proceedings in his own hands with his back-to-back multi-point raid which fired up his captain and the rest of the teams as they combined beautifully to inflict the 2nd all-out for BS.

Mohit in action

The game was back on with AAA making a comeback at the start of the 2n half, and now just a two-point score difference. The battle of quick raids begun as Mohit and Ashu went toe to toe to match each other with Ankit supporting Ashu perfectly to tie the game at 36 each.

Solo Tackle by Deepak to take out raider Mohit Goyat gave AAA the boost they needed. BS defense was starting to get out of sync as they gave away cheap points and were reduced to 3 men on the court soon. Ashu finished the job by forcing another all-out as AAA turned around the game to lead by 5 points.

Ankit got too greedy as he went in too deep to give away his point and with Mohit scoring consecutive points, the match was tied back to 46 all with just a little under 5 mins left as BS took a time out to reevaluate things. But Mohit took out Ashu as he completed the all-out. The lead was 3 points to BS with an exciting finish to the game on hands.

Ashu, the captain was not giving up yet as he scored a crucial multi-point raid to level the game back again. And again, on his last raid as his team trailed by a point, he scored a crucial toe-touch to tie the game right at the death. AAA 53 - 53 BS.

The match was one of the best matches of the tournament so far, both teams leading at times and coming back to finish the game to a worthy stalemate. The draw-out here means both team's places remain unchanged and stay at the top half of the table.
