After The fantastic start by Amit Ashok Academy in their opening match earlier in the day, they were looking to continue their momentum going forward in the tournament with a win against Warriors Arena Academy playing their first game and would be wary of the threat posed by the opposition.
Warriors Arena started with three out-and-out defenders, two raiders, and two all-rounders. AAA started with the same 7, Ashu leading the line as their main raider and captain.
Both teams started cautiously as Ashu AAA and Pawan WAA both went out first with empty raids. Ronak opened the scoring for AAA with a superb tackle to take out raider Karambir. Aakash from WAA raided and got Ankit, Akshay Kumar out, WAA 3-1 AAA. Ashu soon got going to score a multi-point raid of his own as both teams were deadlock at 8-8 with 7 mins into the game. Both team's defense was on their toes as it looked like it will be a close game as both teams were feeling each other out and playing patiently.
Further 6 mins into the game, the teams were still matched evenly with a scoreline of 13-13. WAA took the game's first time out as they regrouped and strategize. Finally, in the 17th min of the game, Ashu scored a super raid to take a lead of 3 points. Pawan was soon left alone against AAA and the defense took him out to inflict the first all-out in the dying stages of the half. And the half ended in the slight favor of AAA 21 -18 WAA.
2nd half started with both the teams still having an equal chance of winning the game from here on out. Both teams started cautiously just like in the first half.Soon the first DOD arrived for WAA. It was unsuccessful as Akash was taken out to open the proceedings in the second half for AAA.
Both teams were playing for the DOD raids. AAA soon was left with only 2 players on the court but Ronak made a super tackle to save his team from getting all-out. A game of cat and mouse began between WAA and AAA. Finally, AAA conceded they're first all-out of the match to give a lead of 1 point to WAA. Ashu soon gave away a technical point a very rare sight. WAA extended their lead to 4 points with a little over 9 mins left on the clock.
But Ashu corrected his mistake by scoring a super raid to tie the match again. With 4 mins left on the clock, Karambir was taken down by AAA's defense with Sahil left alone. All-out was conceded, AAA built a lead of 5 points and then took a time out to give his team a breather with a plan to close the game out. With less than one min to go, Ashu went for the raid to wind the clock down and the match ended with a win for AAA 42-40 WAA.
AAA continued their winning run but would have to perform better than today as they take on Narwal Kabaddi & Sports Academy next. WAA played out a decent match and would hope to win their next game against Narwal Golden Club to get off the mark in the tournament.
