K7 Kabaddi UP League kicks off with a bang, a great platform to hone domestic talent
The much-awaited K7 Kabaddi UP League got off to a thrilling start on Monday, April 15, 2024. The first match of the league was played between Avadh Lions and BK Warriors, in which BK Warriors won by a margin of 3 points. The final score was Warriors 43 - 40 Lions. The second match of the tournament was played between Taj Royals and Jhansi Fighters, in which Jhansi Fighters defeated Royals by 16 points. The score was Jhansi 43 - 27 Royals. The third and fourth matches of the league are also being played today, April 15th. In the third match, Prayagraj Titans defeated Noida Raiders, the score was Prayagraj 33-24 Noida. In the fourth match, Kashi Warriors defeated Gorakhpur Giants, the score was Kashi 51-30 Gorakhpur.
Kabaddi lovers will be happy to know that Jaipur Pink Panthers star raider Arjun Deshwal is the brand ambassador of this tournament. Arjun Deshwal, star raider of Jaipur Pink Panthers, inaugurated the K7 Kabaddi UP League. Rajesh Kumar (General Secretary of UP Kabaddi Association) and Jasveer Singh (Head Coach of UP Yoddha) were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
All the matches of the tournament will be played at the UP Yoddha BK Kabaddi Academy in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. 8 teams will be competing for the trophy in the K7 Kabaddi UP League. The names of these teams are - BK Warriors, Gorakhpur Giants, Taj Royals, Noida Raiders, Avadh Lions, Jhansi Fighters, Prayagraj Titans and Kashi Warriors. It is worth noting that the selection trials for these teams were held in 3 different cities of Uttar Pradesh.
